Mother. Breast Cancer Survivor and Cancer Advocate. Paul Mitchell Future Professional. Seasoned Independent Beauty Consultant with Mary Kay Cosmetics. Seamstress. Painter. Photographer. Singer. Actress. Writer. Educator. ARTIST.

Since a very young age, creativity has been a cornerstone of Rica's life. Formally and informally trained, Rica attended Bi-Cultural Day School in Stamford, CT where art classes with Harriet Lacker gave her a strong skill set upon which she built at Fox Lane High School. As a senior, she not only was an Advanced Placement Studio Art student, but she also took the Drawing Advanced Placement course, was a member and repeat soloist of the elite Chamber Choir, president of Show Choir and was the youngest actress with the Pound Ridge Theatre company, where she not only explored drama seriously outside of an academic setting, but was introduced to set design, costuming and stage makeup. She went on to become the youngest member of the Board of Directors as Production Vice President and is the youngest approved Director in the organization's history.

After high school, Rica lived in Jerusalem and participated in Young Judaea's Year Course in Israel, and then completed her Bachelor's of Arts at Oberlin in 3 years. At Oberlin College, Rica was a double major - English with a focus on Dramatic Literature and Performance and Vocal Performance. Rica became a featured Mezzo Soprano comedic lead with the Oberlin Gilbert and Sullivan Players (OGASP), a member of the Musical Union and the Oberlin Opera Department. As Assistant Director of the notorious Three Princess Project, Rica was the Fencing Choreographer (thanks to her father's training which began at age 4) as well as Costume Designer and Seamstress. Rica went on to design and construct costumes for several shows Off Broadway and Off Off Broadway. Her costume designs have earned her special recognition at the New York Renaissance Festival.

After a long corporate career as a Project Manager and Web Marketing Director, and her battle with breast cancer, Rica realized that her place was really within the creative world. When she began her Mary Kay business in 2007, she realized that her years backstage and in the studio gave her a strong skill set in color theory, makeup application and hair design. After guidance with friends and professionals in the cosmetology world, Rica had an epiphany; Her place was as a successful cosmetologist and future educator and mentor. In 2014, Rica put all of her eggs in one basket, and made a career change by enrolling at the prestigious Paul Mitchell School of Danbury.

Rica is the mother to 2 children, 5 cats, one snake and foster mother to a mother cat and her 5 kittens, but she refuses to accept her unofficial title as a crazy cat lady.
